Boulder Indoor Soccer Meets Cycling Counterpart

I just met with Rodrigo Garcia who is the owner and founder of Boulder Indoor Soccer. What a cool place!

The extent to which Rodrigo has thought through his facility and his business is remarkable and inspiring.

Rodrigo is by training a lawyer, but his passion for soccer led him to co-found Boulder Indoor Soccer in central Boulder in 2003.

After moving to the US from Argentina eight years ago, Rodrigo teamed up with co-founder Peter Ambrose to open an extraordinary facility. Built with Rodrigo’s own labor and skills, the facility offers top-notch guidance and organization for people of virtually all ages to hone their skills (or to investigate their own passion) in this sport that’s traditionally thought of as strictly outdoors.

There’s some more cool stuff that you might want to check out. If you are into having an opportunity to see yourself in play, this is the place. Rodrigo’s people have the place set up so you can come in for team or league play in the evenings, scoot up to the cafe for a beer or an espresso afterwards, and watch the large screen video of your team’s efforts on the field; all in the same night.

While I was there, there was a children’s class with little ‘tots’ getting some early hands-on experience with the soccer ball while the mom’s hung out with the infant siblings and had lattes and caught up on their day.

You might want to explore the Boulder Indoor Soccer Website to see all the schedules and information. It’s a data-rich site that tells you everything you might want to know about what’s going on over there.

You want to know what’s next?

Boulder Indoor Cycling!

You might be interested to know that this fall, Boulder Indoor Cycling will open a brand new 25,000 square foot facility, including a velodrome, and two very cool technical mountain biking courses.

The short list:

  • 142m Velodrome Cycling
  • All Levels of Mountain Biking
  • Racing Leagues
  • Kid’s Programs
  • Bicycle Rentals

I’ll be watching and reporting on the progress of Boulder Indoor Cycling through the summer. Right now they’re into the deconstruction phase on the new facility. When construction is under way, we’ll have updates and photos rolling right up to the anticipated September opening.

Boulder, you are blessed to have a facility like this. My son is a road and track racer and we made a 9 hour drive to check it out and have him train. He loves this fast track. We will be back.

Thanks to all involved to bring this to reality! Truly visionary.
