Town of Superior Trustee Candidate Chris Hanson

I have a friend who lives in Superior, and I’ve learned recently that he is running for a seat as Superior Colorado Town Trustee.

While I don’t make it a habit of getting political, or endorsing political candidates, I’ve come to know Chris Hanson over the last few years through scouting, as his son and mine are both in the same Cub Scout pack in Superior.

I believe Chris is an intelligent, capable and trustworthy person, and is likely an excellent person to contribute to the Board of Trustees in Superior.  So if you’re considering moving to Superior, or already live here and intend on voting in the election, you may want to look closely at this.

Here is Chris’ own rundown on who he is and why he’s running for office.

Call, text, or email me today! … I’d seriously enjoy having the opportunity to talk to you about your plans if you’re moving, or if you know someone who is considering a move, and needs some straight answers. Especially if the Town of Superior, Colorado is one of your destination choices.

My name is Chris Hanson.

I have decided to become a candidate because the next two years are going to be important to the long-term stability of our town, and I have the desire and the ability to make sure Superior remains among the top towns in the Country.

I have lived in Superior for 12 years with my wife Ingrid.  We have two boys , who both go to Superior Elementary, and we’re all truly proud to call Superior our home.  I have a B.A. in Communications and an MBA in Finance and Accounting.  I am a Financial Advisor and Principal owner of Superior-based Trevian Financial, active in the community, and I started a youth rugby club in Superior with another parent.  I have organized community events, such as a forum with Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle, Sergeant Steve Cullen, and Sergeant Vinnie Montez that focused on community crime prevention and identity theft.  I also participated in the inaugural Superior Citizens Academy, which is a 6-week program that educates citizens on how our municipality operates.   I am also active in the Superior Chamber of Commerce.

My platform is based on community first.

The needs of our Town must be placed ahead of any

Maintain a proper balance in all aspects of our community.  We need to…

o   Balance Business retention and development with open space acquisitions

o   Balance New projects and their processes with effective communication to residents

o   Balance How we manage Rock Creek with how we manage Original Town.

In order to achieve these goals my plan is to engage Support of…

o   The people

o   Leverage the natural synergies

§  The Chamber of Commerce

§  The HOA’s

§  Each of these groups has different expertise that will in the end benefit our community as a whole
