Restaurant, Bagali’s New Orleans Inspired Italian

photo_020909_007One of my kid’s favorite restaurants, Big Bowl out by the Flatiron Crossing Mall, closed a long time ago. After sitting vacant for all this time, a new tenant finally moved in, and after saving our pennies for a meal out, I ventured over to Bagali’s Italian Kitchen.

photo_020909_001Turns out that we didn’t need to wait; the prices are very affordable, (my sandwich was about $9) and the food is excellent. If you want to share more information about local eateries, or of course, real estate, call or email me! After all, this is a real estate blog, but I love to find new places to explore around the area besides just homes for sale.

photo_020909_009For my lunch at Bagali’s, I chose the special, which was a sandwich called the Chicken Bacon Mushroom Melt. A little decadent in terms of calories and fat I’ll admit, and well worth the indulgence; it turned out to be one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time. Perhaps a little extra running is in order to work it off.

photo_020909_002I’m always a fan of trying whatever the ‘special’ is, especially at a new restaurant. While this place is new to us in the Boulder Valley, The folks that brought us Bagali’s have been at it for a while. They have a successful restaurant in the Vail area as well.

photo_020909_006Owners Stuart Bucy and Lance and Margaret Hollinger take a lot of pride in their work, and state that their focus is to use fresh, local, organic and hormone-free ingredients whenever possible.

photo_020909_005Here’s some other recent specials: Shrimp and Smoked Sausage Gumbo, Pesto Chicken Pizza, Blackened Mahi-Mahi with Pineapple-Red Pepper Glaze, and Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake. I also hear they have an exceptional Tiramisu.

Go and check it out for yourself. It’s a lot more interesting than many of your typical chain based or franchise venues. Let me know what you think when you do.

If you have an opinion about another local favorite, or better yet, if you think you have something to say about the local real estate market or questions about your real estate plans, call or email me today, I’d love to hear from you, just like I heard from Pam recently with questions about Boulder condos!
