Erie Co. Gets Amazing New Community Center!

slide-web.jpgErie, Colorado now has a new community center as the $16.8 Million facility as of 10am Saturday January 5th. Owners of Erie real estate supported building the new center via a 2006 ballot initiative.

gymnasium-web.jpgWith Free admission that day the Erie community has much to be excited about. The new facility boasts a pool, running track and climbing walls and covers over 63,800 square feet.

The Erie Colorado Community Center features state-of-the-art workout machines, a heated pool and a children’s play area. The pool even has a translucent water slide. There’s a teen room and a senior’s lounge as well.

water-feature-web.jpgThis is the first time Erie residents have had their own community center like this and some unique features are included. Solar powered water heaters and an advanced pool filtration system, natural lighting is abundant and personal televisions are built into many fitness machines and there’s even a computer system to track individual workouts for patrons of the center.

Annual memberships range from $175 for resident kids to $855 for non resident family memberships. There are also three-month memberships and 20-visit punch cards available as well as daily passes and senior discounts.

Erie town voters approved a tax in 2006 of about $15 a month per resident (on a typical $300,000 home) to pay for the facility.
