I’ve shown, sold, and visited lots of land all around our beautiful state of Colorado, and this particular area called Crystal Lakes is quite unique.

It has the seclusion of the mountains…

the peace and solitude of mountain life…

yet the community and connection to a group of people devoted to protecting and nurturing this area to be the best of what Colorado has to offer in an unpretentious, and truly classic Colorado lifestyle.

The driveway’s been cleared for easy access to build your dream home, or just start out by camping in your own private sanctuary while exploring the Roosevelt National Forest.

The location is unbelievable, and the views are spectacular from the huge rock outcropping which borders the property along forested open space.

Crystal Lakes is a vibrant and well-established community near the famous Beaver Meadows resort, and just down the road from Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

Beaver Meadows Resort offers year-’round activities including horseback riding, world-class fishing in the privately owned lake, ponds, and rivers, show shoeing, tubing on the very popular and well-built tubing hill adjacent to the Beaver Meadows lodge, Ice Skating, even hunting… all right at your fingertips.

Mountain Biking on some spectacular single-track which is well mapped out for new visitors is right out your ‘back door’.

How about classic Colorado hiking in the nearby Roosevelt National Forest? Crystal Lakes is essentially surrounded by the Roosevelt National Forest.

Here’s a switch, Beaver Meadows has one of the most exciting and challenging disc golf in the country (that’s frisbee golf for those of you who’ve not heard the term “disc golf”).

Like to ride horses? the Beaver Meadows Stables has what you need. If you can imagine it, I think you can find it at this perfect Colorado mountain spot.

The location can’t be beat. You have access to all of the local amenities at Beaver Meadows, Crystal Lake, and the nearby Red Feather Lakes community. The Shambala center isn’t too far down the road towards the ‘Forks’ and the Ben Delatour Boy Scout Ranch is also close by if you have scouts in the family.

Crystal Lakes is a private mountain subdivision located in Larimer County near Red Feather Lakes Village approximately 50 miles northwest of Fort Collins, one of Colorado’s fastest growing front-range communities.

The Crystal Lakes Subdivision was established in 1969, and it  includes about 1,600 lots spread out over more than 4,800 acres surrounded by the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests with elevations ranging from 8,000 to 9,500 feet.

The high alpine location of Crystal Lakes combines beautiful meadows that include wildflowers and also native grasses. There are rugged mountainsides of pine, fir, aspen, and spectacular rock outcrop formations.

All this creates a wonderful environment for both vacation, and full-time year-’round living. Year around accessibility is assured due to well-maintained, all-weather roads.

More than 700 buildings, which range from smaller cabins all the way up to spacious and modern mountain homes have been built at Crystal Lakes.  Many property owners also enjoy camping on their property. The Crystal Lakes covenants do permit temporary shelters (trailers and RVs) for up to 5 months per year, and of course, coming up for the week, or extended weekend to pitch a tent and have the ultimate family camping experience is part of the program if that suits your needs.

Privacy and seclusion have been preserved by lot sizes generally ranging from 1/2 to 10 acres.  An amazing benefit is that about 10% of the land area within Crystal Lakes subdivision has been set aside as open space for the common enjoyment of property owners, guests and the wildlife living in the area.

On any given day you can see the local moose in the meadow down along the north fork of the Poudre river, beaver, deer, duck, and a plethora of other animals.

Essential community services are provided by the Crystal Lakes Road and Recreation Association and Crystal Lakes Water and Sewer Association.  These non-profit corporations are governed by boards of directors elected by Crystal Lakes property owners.
