Boulder’s Centro Restaurant Now Has Brunch

centro.gifAnother local favorite restaurant of mine: (Centro Latin Kitchen & Refreshment Palace) just sent me an email that they’re doing brunch.

I’ve liked the location on west pearl for it’s patio more than anything. It’s got some of the best shade yet feels breezy and open with a lot of good sidewalk action. It’s right next to the walkway that connects Pearl street to Walnut St. along the west side of The Daily Camera. The open view through the poolside / island style bar into the restaurant give you lots of connection back and forth and the staff does a decent job. While service has its ups and downs overall in Boulder, Centro has seemed to manage to get some pretty ‘on the ball’ staff when we’ve been there.

eggs.jpgPreviously called Rhumba, and we liked it then… I like it even better now and there’s some cool new stuff on the menu but the bar is where we saw a big change. I heard someone wanted to reinforce the bar scene but one of the staff at Centro told me just after the name and style change just the opposite: that they wanted to get more lunch and food traffic. I’ve never been let down in any case and the whole place feels really great and looks really cool.

They’ve had a unique way of dealing with the menu and I think the uniqueness adds something most restaurants lack. It’s fun, and different. I’m always excited about tasting food that I might not typically cook at home so for that, this is great stuff.

centrodining.jpgCheck it for yourself and let me know what you think. In the meantime, you might catch me out on the patio finding a spot of shade and sippin’ an horchata!

I’d say the big red F group of restaurants has it figured out. We’re going back for more soon!
