Boulder Number One Startup City

In case you missed it in mid August, according to a report released by technology policy coalition Engine and the Kansas City, Missouri-based Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the city of Boulder was considered number one in the country for high-tech startup company density.

Boulder’s density of tech startups is 6.3x that of the average city in the USA.

This measurement is defined for the purposes of the study as companies between one and five years old, with high shares of employees in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

Other Colorado communities came out near the top besides Boulder.

Fort Collins-Loveland came in just after Boulder at number two. Fort Collins-Loveland has a density of 3.0 times the average.

Two other Colorado areas that made the top 10: Denver-Aurora-Broomfield was sixth, and Colorado Springs was ninth,

Then came Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Grand Junction came in 19th.

Perhaps just another reason we see so much growth, and why so many folks are attracted to Boulder, and other nearby areas, and why we see so much job growth locally. Come visit and do your own research to see why this would be a great area for you to live!
