Boulder Job Market Improves Via IBM

ibm-logoIBM, one of Boulder’s larger employers for years, has just announced that it will be hiring about 500 new jobs to the local marketplace.

When many other area companies are laying off workers, IBM is poised to take over as Boulder’s largest employer, kicking Sun Microsystems to 2nd place.

The primary focus of these new jobs will be in the customer service sector, and the resource for this action is based in the tens of thousands in tax rebates from the City of Boulder.

Reports are that there will not be national recruiting, and that the workers hired to fill these newly created positions will be coming from current residents of the area.

Call, Text, or Email me if you, or someone you know, is thinking about moving, or simply interested in talking about the process of moving.

Most of these jobs will be filled in the next four years, and some of the hiring is already taking place this month.

The time-frame for these new jobs ties closely with the time table for the first phase of the new ConocoPhillips facility in Louisville, as IBM indicates hiring will continue through 2014.

This can mean continued good news for the local real estate market, and while prices have been very stable the last few years in our area, it’s a great time to buy real estate.

If a real estate purchase is in your future, perhaps a look at this contemporary Boulder home for sale, a top-floor Boulder condo for sale, this  Louisville land for sale, or this beautiful Broomfield home for sale will help get you started in your process to find a new home.

I’d also like to share with you my new neighborhood profiles, and  Boulder business profiles. They’re both great ways to learn more about what’s going on in Boulder.
