Boulder Employment Opportunity Improves

We know that the basic condition of any local economy comes down to jobs. That’s why many of us are so focused on information we get about new employers coming into the area, or businesses that plan to expand and hire new people.

Have you heard about Eco Products Inc.? I just heard that Eco Products is doubling its size with the purchase of a new building in Boulder, and the company is also doubling the number of employees. This could be a great thing for the local economy, and the Boulder real estate market.

If you’re interested in more information about the local economy, or the real estate market, please call or email me today so that we can talk more about your needs and questions.

Boulder’s local economy has held its own reasonably well lately while many other areas around the country have not. The Eco Products Inc. news is another indicator of why our area is different.

What is also interesting is the company has a subsidiary store called Ellies Eco Home Store, which is just opening in the Village Shopping Center near McGuckins.

The 9,700-square-foot location will have departments such as green building; bath; kitchen; general merchandise and apparel to cater to the retail / consumer level buyer. (Eco Products is a wholesale, business-to-business operation.) So now you can buy eco-products directly from a retail outlet.

Eco Products has humble beginnings in the early 1990’s. And apparently, as consumer’s environmental consciousness expanded so did the company. Today Eco-Products sells over 100 different products to all fifty states, Canada and Mexico. They grew from a small eco-friendly distributor into the most recognized brand of environmental food service products nationwide who’s employees don’t just ‘talk the talk’ but actually ‘walk the walk’.

It seems natural that a company like this is based in Boulder. Unlike many other businesses that have relocated, or others that continue to relocate here in the Boulder area, Eco Products began in the area.

The best thing about this news is that we know when we see more jobs coming to the area, we know that means more dollars and an improving economy. If you’ve been worrying about the local market, just watch for job growth to see the true trend for our future.

If you are ready to take advantage of the current real estate market, or simply have some questions please call or email me now. I’d love the opportunity to hear what your thoughts and plans are for 2009… especially if you need my help with buying or selling real estate!
