Boulder Colorado Marijuana Moratorium

The Boulder Colorado City Council has decided it’s time to stop the recreational pot distribution for the rest of the year.

Well, not exactly.

Due to other more pressing issues in the area right now, namely the rain and flood (in case you’ve been living under a rock), the city council decided to postpone/cancel a public hearing intended to address regulations of retail marijuana businesses.

The scheduled public hearing, and second vote on the regulations affect retail shops and other marijuana related businesses.

The new public hearing is planned for October 8th this year.

According to the Daily Camera, City Attorney Tom Carr said the city is of the opinion that state law already prohibits new marijuana businesses for now. It was apparently at Carr’s recommendation that the city council adopt the moratorium ntil the city could get its formal regulations determined and in force.

Oh, and in case you were wondering; if you are growing your own for personal use under Amendment 64, the word is this doesn’t apply to you.
