Here’s another short list of various museums, galleries, parks, and art venues which have free admission days in Colorado along the front range and in the Denver metro area.

At the bottom of the list here I’ve added some additional info where you can find places that always have free admission. Click the ‘more’ link and see some great opportunities to go have fun and not spend a bunch of money.

Denver Art Museum:

Arvada Center For Arts and Humanities:

The Arvada Center prides itself on keeping its gallery and  museum exhibitions FREE and open to the public seven days a week, something that it has done since inception in 1976.

The Arvada Center Galleries are open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The galleries remain open until 7:30 p.m. on evenings with theatre performances.

Aurora History Museum:

The museum collects and exhibits artifacts and documents pertaining to the history of Aurora and Colorado.

Free everyday the museum is open, closed on Mondays.

Hudson Gardens:

Open Daily Year-Round  April – October: 9 AM – 5 PM  November – March: 10 AM – 3 PM

Please note that some areas of Hudson Gardens may be closed or restricted due to concerts or other special events.The Welcome Center & Gift Shop is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. 

Garden admission is free everyday!

United States National Parks:

During National Park Week, all National Park Service sites will offer free admission to everyone.

April 21st is the first day of National Park Week, also free days are: September 22 (National Public Lands Day); November 11th (Veterans Day).

There are a few National Parks in Colorado: Mesa Verde, Rocky Mountain, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and Great Sand Dunes are some of the top destinations.

US Air Force Academy Visitor Center & Chapel: 800-443-9266 usage.af.mil

The Barry Goldwater Air Force Academy Visitor Center serves as the gateway to the Academy, providing information on its history and cadet life to hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

The Visitor Center is open to the public everyday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Public access to the center is currently through the North Gate only. A government I.D. will be required at the gate.

CU Art Museum:

Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
During the spring and fall semesters museum is also open Thursdays until 7:00 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays and all CU Boulder holidays

Free tour tickets are available at the Tour Information window located at the Gift Shop entrance gate on Cherokee Street, between West Colfax Avenue and West 14th Avenue. The Tour Information window opens at 7 a.m., Monday- Thursday (excluding observed federal holidays), and will remain open until all tickets have been distributed. Tickets are for same-day tours only; no advance tickets are available. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 5 per person.

Henderson Building CU Boulder Campus
15th and Broadway, Boulder

Visit the Museum of Natural History on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder. They are open to the public seven days a week, free of charge. From ancient dinosaur fossils to current scientific research.

Visitors to the Colorado State Capitol may plan to tour the building or to attend a meeting or special event. Different offices control scheduling for different parts of the building and grounds.
